The rules of Argonath RPG are simple. All players are expected to role-play. Deathmatching (attacking players without a role-play reason) is strictly forbidden and players doing it will be severely punished by the administration. Players are free to use their imagination. The idea of the role-play servers is that we all live in a corrupt country, with a lot of criminals. However, that does not mean that civilians are allowed to use their weapons at any time. If you are shot at, do what would happen in real life: panic and run. Only the cops are allowed to shoot back, but even for the cops there are limits.

LU Rules
- No deathmatching.
- We are a roleplaying community. There is no need to run around and blow each other's limbs off. Using roleplay as an excuse to deathmatch will not be tolerated. This includes vehicle-killing of any type, purposely crashing a vehicle to kill others, and revenge-killing. The only exception to this for suspects is when they are attempting to escape from Police. If a suspect kills an officer by "cop-hunting" or sticking around to kill them before attempting to flee, they will be punished for deathmatching. The only exception for Police is when they are attempting to stop fleeing suspects after giving fair warning and are following all ARPD protocols and procedures regarding suspects that don't surrender. If Police kill a suspect that has already surrendered, they will also be punished for deathmatching. The only exception for Civilians to this rule is if you are being attacked and the federal laws regarding self-defense are strictly followed.
- Advantages are not allowed.
- Anyone caught using any hacks, cheat, mods, glitches, or anything else that gives a player an advantage, something they are not supposed to have, or any different amount of something thereof, will be immediately banned from the server. This is against the Community Rules, Server Rules, Server Vision, and Argonath Vision. There will be no exceptions. The development team and administration are not exempt from this rule either.
- No vehicular abuse allowed.
- We don't want to ruin everyone's fun. For this reason, ramming, carjacking, and vehicle-killing are not allowed in any form for any reason. The only exception to this rule is if the ramming or carjacking is done by Police to attempt to stop a suspect's vehicle. Vehicle-killing in any form by Police will not be tolerated. This includes attempting to run over suspects, ditching cars into them, and "bumping" them with your vehicle.
- Pausing for advantages is not allowed.
- Anyone caught pausing in combat for any reason to avoid dying, or pausing purposely to avoid suspection after being caught committing a crime will be severely punished. This is seen as script abuse of the client, and you may even be banned for it if you continue to be caught doing it.
- Respect all players.
- Flaming, trolling, provoking, taunting, disrespecting, or otherwise attempting to attack players is not allowed in any way, and will be dealt with strictly by the administration. If you are roleplaying out saying something bad to a player in the local chats, be certain that the other player is well aware and has agreed to do such before you start. If they take offense to it, depending on the situation, you may be punished. Calling someone a "noob", saying "owned", or any variations of those or similar words still falls under provoking and flaming. Remember, everyone is equal in this community.
- Script abuse will never be allowed.
- Script abuse in any form, no matter how big or small, is a bannable offense and will never be allowed by anyone, even Developers or the administration. Unless a Developer instructs you to abuse something to test for a bug, you will never be allowed to abuse the scripts, or the bugs and features in the client and/or server. This also includes game glitches and bugs. Stealing shotguns from police vehicles, or entering a building via command without exiting your vehicle are some examples of this. Knowing about a secret or unknown bug that you discovered and not reporting it is also considered script abuse, even if not used again. Don't hide bugs for your own advantages.
- Impersonation is not allowed.
- Impersonating anyone, whether it be another player, the administration, the development team, Community Leadership, or someone from outside this community is strictly disallowed. Doing such will lead to an immediate ban. The only exception to this is if you are roleplaying the role of a real-life person from outside the community without the intention to be malicious or attacking in your actions. There is obviously some common sense needed for this exception, so if you are caught abusing it, you will be treated the same as you would be for impersonation.
- Advertising is not allowed.
- Discussion or advertisement of any group, community, or server outside of Argonath RPG is not allowed. We are not here to help other servers by ruining our own. We are a very open community, but other servers don't advertise us, so we have no reason to return the favor.
- Bypassing the rules is not allowed.
- Any attempt to bypass the written rules, or otherwise abuse the fact that a written rule is missing, will be immediately banned for malicious behavior against the server. We try our best to write them all out, but we can't possibly think of them all before they happen, so please use some common sense. If you think of a rule we don't have listed here, suggest it, but don't abuse it!
- Don't argue with, ignore, or avoid the administration.
- The administration and above has the final word in the server. If you do not agree with the actions taken against you or someone else, and you have evidence that it is against the Server Rules, Community Rules, Server Vision, and/or Argonath Vision, please send an email to lu@argonathrpg.com and provide detailed information on the situation. If you attempt to ignore the administration, or quit to avoid them, you will be banned immediately, without question. Ban evading also falls under avoiding the administration, and may lead to increased punishments and/or legal action if caught.
- Suspects may not kill themselves, or run after surrendering.
- Suspects purposely killing themselves by committing suicide or using the scripts will be banned without question. This is still seen as script abuse to gain an advantage and is not allowed. Suspects who attempt to run from Police after surrendering are also seen as script abusing, and this is not allowed either.
- Ruining roleplays is not allowed.
- Any actions to purposely ruin normal roleplays, events, or large-scale/server-wide roleplays is not allowed. Please don't ruin other people's fun for your own amusement.
- Spamming is not allowed.
- Spamming only lags the server and annoys users. There is no reason to do this. It ruins the fun environment for everyone when they can't read each other's text or the scripted commands. Please refrain from doing this.
- Capital-letter spamming is not allowed.
- Spamming capital letters, or "caps", is not allowed in the server. Users are trying to have fun roleplaying and don't need to be spammed by this so someone can get attention.
- Suspects may not return after death or arrest.
- Suspects are able to escape, so there's no reason why they should be running back towards Police to defend their friends or join in to make a never-ending situation. Criminals are just trying to get away with their crimes, and it's every man and woman for themselves out there!
- No racism, sexism, or attacks on religion or personal beliefs are allowed.
- Any statements of any forms of racism or sexism are completely disallowed, and are highly disrespectful, as are attacks on anyone's religion or personal beliefs. Anyone caught using or doing such will be severely punished. We are an open community of users from around the world with different preferences, ethnicities, religions, and personal beliefs. Any attacks on this will never be allowed here for any reason.
- The Server Rules are always in effect.
- Anyone caught purposely breaking the server rules when the administration is offline or unavailable will be immediately banned. This falls under bypassing the rules, as well as avoiding and ignoring the administration, and therefore breaking this rule will never be allowed for any reason.
- Weapon-equipping rules must always be followed.
- Group rules regarding weapon-equipping must be followed at all times. Anyone caught breaking them and/or weapon-equipping while in combat will be banned for script abuse.
- Don't abuse skins for advantages.
- Anyone caught abusing a skin for it's duty, abilities, or appearance to gain an advantage will be punished. This is a roleplay community, and we do not appreciate people taking advantage of what we offer players so they can make personal gains for status or abilities in disallowed ways.
- Use common sense in account names.
- Account names containing anything offensive are never allowed, in any language whatsoever. Anything containing Argonath RPG or "The Lord Of The Rings" names are not allowed to be used without special permission from the Server Owners as these are reserved. Please use common sense when making your account names. Account names such as being all random symbols, numbers, that are colored with color tags, or that are obviously unacceptable will not be allowed.
- Multi-accounting is not allowed.
- Users are not allowed to make multiple accounts. We don't want people unnecessarily raising the size of the database for no reason, nor do we want this abused. If you have another real human being that wishes to play in this community that shares your same network, IP, or computer information, please notify the administration immediately so they are aware. If you don't, you may be banned for multi-accounting. Abusing the exception of multi-accounting for multiple users by transferring anything between the accounts purely for an advantage will lead to an immediate ban for script abuse.
- Malicious attacks on players, the server, or the community are strictly disallowed.
- There are absolutely no exceptions to this rule. Anyone caught attempting to hack, damage, "lag", DoS attack, or otherwise harm or maliciously attack Argonath RPG, it's community, it's servers, it's users, and/or any property owned by those listed will be immediately route-banned without question, and legal action will be taken.
- Please only speak English in the public chat.
- We are an international server in an international community, so in order to prevent confusion or rule-breaking, please only speak English in the public chat. You may speak other languages in personal message chats, local chats, and other non-server-wide chats.
- Respect the Server Rules, Community Rules, Server Vision, and Argonath Vision.
- The Server Rules, Community Rules, Server Vision, and Argonath Vision define this community's Liberty Unleashed server. You may not go against them in any roleplays.
- Vehicle cannon abuse is not allowed.
- Anyone caught abusing vehicle cannons, such as the Rhino or Firetruck cannons, will be punished. Abuse of these vehicles' special abilities is seen as a lighter form of script abuse. If users are caught repeatedly abusing this, however, they will be banned from the server. We want everyone to have fun with what is provided to them, not abuse it on each other.
Note: These Server Rules may change at any time without warning or notification. It is your responsibility to check and know these before playing in the server at any given time.
- Deathmatching is prohibited on the server.
- Killing players without a valid roleplay reason is not allowed. Killing (or attacking) players randomly, or under one-sided roleplay conditions are not permitted.
- Vehicle killing and intentional ramming are not allowed.
- Do not use vehicles to hit or kill players intentionally. An exception may be to stun (within a roleplay situation) someone; such as the police may stun a fleeing criminal, but may not use a vehicle to kill.
- Vehicle to vehicle ramming is tolerated in ongoing roleplay situations, if relevant.
- All forms of cheats/modifications/hacks that directly affect gameplay are disallowed.
- Any third party features that affect gameplay conditions to give an unfair advantage or otherwise must not be used. Visual modifications are allowed.
- Glitch abuse is strictly prohibited.
- Please do not abuse glitches to your advantage - these include car jacking (glitching to steal a vehicle) and shooting/attacking through interiors or walls.
- Script abuse in any form is against the rules.
- Locked vehicles, such as emergency vehicles are for authorised personnel only.
- Pausing in combat is not allowed.
- Impostering Admins is not allowed.
- It is against the rules to make false claims in being a member of the Argonath RPG Administration.
- Do not ruin roleplay situations or ongoing events.
- Killing in self defence is allowed.
- If you find that someone is deathmatching you, but have no chance of getting away, you are allowed to kill in self defence.
- Cop hunting is disallowed.
- Chasing or provoking police to become wanted is not allowed. Criminals may only receive a wanted status under roleplay grounds - for breaking a law (in-game) for instance.
- Wanted players cannot alt-tab, kill themselves, or pause.
- Players are not allowed to return to a roleplay situation after death.
- The only exception to this is the police, who are allowed to re-join a situation.
- Criminals are to be given a chance to surrender before being engaged by police if at all possible.
- Even using the /c sur(render) command, suspects must first be given the chance to surrender before police attack.
- Surrendered suspects (that have surrendered through /c sur(render)) cannot flee or be attacked by police unless under imminent threat.
- Surrendered suspects cannot be rescued either, until jailed.
- Police units may only use the Hunter under authorised conditions.
- The Hunter, once authorised, is to be only used against criminals escaping in boats or other aircraft.
- Those that wish to assist criminals may only do so under roleplay conditions.
- Situations that involve roles such as hitmen or assassins must take into account certain roleplay parameters.
- Players cannot simply attack or kill others in the defense that they were acting as an assassin, for example.
- As Argonath is an international community the main language used is English, and therefore we ask all players to communicate in English whilst on public chats.
- Advertising un-linked to Argonath RPG and its accepted partners is not allowed.
- These may include the broadcasting of IPs, web addresses and details of other servers.
- Avoid usage of inappropriate language, and especially those that may be directed at other players or groups.
- Please do not flame or intentionally use unsuitable language in the public chat as it can cause offence. In roleplay situations, avoid excessively swearing or flaming other players.
- Provoking arguments with the administration is not allowed.
- Flooding, as well as spam in the chat is strictly disallowed.
- Over using characters to fill up the chat, or generally disrupting the chat with irrelevant text is not allowed.
- Usage of capitals is restricted.
- In order to avoid chats getting too 'messy' or out of hand, please refrain from using capitalised letters repeatedly.
- In scripted bank robbery situations, police cannot be outnumbered.
- In order for a bank rob to be initiated, there should be a sufficient number of active/available cops to criminals.
- Rules may not be stretched or broken in the name of "roleplay", and must be upheld at all times.
- Impersonating administrators is NOT allowed
- More than one player CANNOT use a clan tag before registering it on the forum
- Ramming wanted players as a cop is allowed. (Only cars to cars)

Game rules:
- No Griefing. That means, do not destroy other players creations or no stealing from their boxes.
- No flaming / disrespecting.
- No Advertising.
- No glitching to gain advantages over other players.
- No caps in the chat.
- If you die, you will not be refunded with what you had before.
- Do not annoy any other players with like building on what they are building, follow them and so on. Use Common sense on this matter.
- Bridges must be builded at least 2 blocks above sea level, to allow shipping properly.
- Do not build stuff which can offend players.
- Hacking is not allowed. Like Programs which gives you items, infinite health, no clip and so on.
Faction rules:
- Everyone is free to start up a new faction
- You are free to claim land wherever you want UNLESS if it's already something built on it close to it. You are not allowed to * claim already built villages if you are not the mayor of it. Doing so will get you punished.
- You are free to go into war with who you want, but have a proper reason and not just to get in war with someone.
- You are not allowed to have an offensive name on your faction. Such factions will be disbanded by administration right away.
Responsibility
- It is the responsibility of competitors to familiarize themselves and abide by the RaceSIM rules and regulations laid out below.
Conduct
- You must compete in a fair and honest manner.
- You must drive responsibly, in a way that will not ruin the enjoyment for others.
- Offensive language, abuse and discrimination against drivers is strictly outlawed.
Pit stops
- Cars on-track have right of way over any drivers entering or exiting the pitlane.
- Drivers must keep within the pit exit line.
- Cars on the pit driving lane have right-of-way over cars in, and coming out of, the pit stall lane.
- When leaving the pit stall, drivers must join into the pit lane immediately unless there is oncoming traffic.
After an Incident
- Any driver rejoining the track after a spin/crash/off has the responsibility of not driving into other competitors - regardless of position or situation. Being stuck on the barriers is regarded as a crash.
- On-track drivers at racing speed always have right of way over anyone returning to the track, even if the incident was not your fault.
- Your right of way does not exist until you are up to racing speed on-track.
- Always use your mirrors, look buttons and mini-map (if available) to check for oncoming traffic. Not doing so is highly dangerous.
- If a competitor's car has come to a halt on the track, either through spinning or crashing, then that driver must apply the brakes and not move whatsoever. This helps oncoming traffic find a route through the incident as a moving chicane is a lot harder to avoid and will result in a collision.
- The stationary driver must either spectate as soon as possible, or if safe to do so, return to racing speed once all oncoming traffic has passed.
- If a racer's car is severely damaged either through contact or a driver's own hardware, it is highly recommended that they retire as soon as possible. If, however, the driver attempts to return to the pitlane for repair, they should remain off the racing line at all times, and drive at a vastly reduced speed whilst being fully aware of approaching traffic.
- A damaged car recovering to the pits has no right of way whatsoever.
Contact
- Even if the above rules are adhered to at all times, contact between cars is always a possibility.
- If a driver has breached one of the Rules of Racing, and has resulted in contact and/or a time or position advantage. That driver must apologize, and forfeit the position to the affected driver. If the affected driver is unable to continue, sufficient action should be encouraged at the Server Admin's discretion.
- If a driver who has breached one of the Rules of Racing is most affected by the incident, this driver has no right to claim any form of position or compensation for this error.
- Behind drivers are expected to anticipate the possibility that ahead drivers may have longer braking zones, and can make mistakes. Behind drivers should drive accordingly, always maintaining separation.
- The behind driver has a responsibility to not run into the back of a ahead driver. The ahead driver does not have to try to avoid you. If all else fails, the behind driver should run their own car off the track to avoid such a collision.
- Malicious or inappropriate braking or slowing is strictly prohibited.
Lapping
- It is a fundamental rule of motorsport and sim racing that when a driver receives a blue flag, this is to let the driver know that a faster car is about to overtake and put that driver a lap down.
- The driver that is overtaking/lapping the slower car must treat the situation as though a normal competitor is being overtaken - and not assume the lapped driver should leap out of the way at all costs.
- The driver that is being lapped should let the lead driver past and/or not resist to be overtaken. Only move out of the way for the lead driver when you believe it is safe to do so. For example, not on the apex of a corner.
Overtaking
- To obtain right of road position in a corner, the overtaker's car must have substantial overlap of the car that is being overtaken, before they reach the corner's turn-in point. Should the overtaking car not have enough overlap, the leading car may resume its racing line without fear of contact.
- The car on the outside has the right to outside room all the way through the corner, right up to the exit point. That car should not be squeezed against the outside towards the exit point.
- The car on the inside has the right to inside room all the way through the corner, right up to the exit point. That car should not be squeezed against the inside towards the apex area. The ahead driver can still battle for the position of course but must do so while maintaining side room for the behind driver. The practice of going up the inside of an ahead car after that car has already turned in, and where there was no established substantial overlap before the turn in point, is sometimes referred to as barge passing, (i.e. you barge your way past). Understand that barge passing is a high risk maneuver for both you and others. You have no rights what so ever as a barge passer.
- Where an ahead driver has clearly made a sufficient error to warrant a passing move, a behind driver may attack their position, with due caution and care, regardless of whether there was any pre-existing overlap. E.g. If the ahead driver brakes too late and drifts out wide of the apex and then has to reduce speed etc. This would be a valid passing opportunity regardless of whether there was pre-existing overlap. However, there is still substantial responsibility on the overtaking driver to take all necessary care to avoid contact. Small errors by the ahead driver may not be sufficient to justify an attacking passing move however. Just because the ahead driver gets a bit out of shape at times does not give you an automatic right to pass uncontested by them or a right to room. You still have to judge if their error provides sufficient opportunity for a safe pass to take place.
- Ahead drivers have the right to choose any line down a straight. The ahead driver may make one move to block the opposing car, and one move to return to the racing line before the next corner, Unless the opposing car has overlap.
- Ahead drivers have the right to take any line through a corner, unless an opposing car has overlap.
Identification
- Always use your recognized online name. Team tags and colours may change, but using someone elses, or a vulgar name is dishonest and unsportsmanlike.
- Car skins should require no vulgar abusive or discriminative content.
