Seal of San Andreas Fire Department
The SAFD, also known as the San Andreas Fire Department, is the State of San Andreas' official and only existing Fire Prevention and Response authority. Responding to all fires and medical calls, the San Andreas Fire Department is one of several divisions of the ARFD. The San Andreas Fire Department is a state-wide agency.
Stations
The San Andreas Fire Department currently runs six stations.
- Station 1, also known as the Los Santos Fire Department, serves the entire main city of Los Santos, and is also the headquarters for all Los Santos Fire Department administrative work. The firehouse can be found in Rodeo, Los Santos, San Andreas, and has three large bays, complete with two Engines, one Ladder Truck, one Raindance helicopter on the roof, and one Battalion Truck for Command Staff purposes.
- Station 2, also known as the San Fierro Fire Department, serves the entire main city of San Fierro, and is also the headquarters for all San Fierro Fire Department administrative work. The firehouse can be found in Doherty, San Fierro, San Andreas, and has two large bays, complete with two Engines, one Ladder Truck, two Raindance helicopters in the back parking lot, and one Battalion Truck for Command Staff purposes, similar to Station 1.
- Station 3, also known as the Las Venturas Fire Department, serves the entire main city of Las Venturas, and is also the headquarters for all Las Venturas Fire Department administrative work. The firehouse can be found in Redsands West, Las Venturas, San Andreas, and has four large bays, complete with two Engines, one Ladder Truck, one Raindance helicopter on the lower-level roof, as well as one Battalion Truck for Command Staff purposes like Stations 1 and 2.
- Located at the Los Santos International Airport, the Los Santos Fire Department's Airport Division substation is located on the south-eastern end of the airstrip, and is stationed with one Tow Truck and two Engines, all specially made for airport-related emergencies. These vehicles do not leave the airport without permission from a SAFD Battalion Chief.
- Located at the Easter Bay International Airport, the San Fierro Fire Department's Airport Division substation is located on the northern end of the airport, and is stationed with two Engines, both specially made for airport-related emergencies. These vehicles do not leave the airport without permission from a SAFD Battalion Chief.
- Located at the Las Venturas Airport, the Las Venturas Fire Department's Airport Division substation is located on the north-western end of the airstrip, and is stationed with two Engines, both specially made for airport-related emergencies. These vehicles do not leave the airport without permission from a SAFD Battalion Chief.
Divisions
There are several divisions of the SAFD. They include the San Andreas Fire Department itself, the Airport Division, San Fire, and the Fire Prevention Bureau.
- The San Andreas Fire Department, as mentioned above, is the State of San Andreas' Fire Prevention and Response authority, whose main function is to protect the State of San Andreas from unintentional fires and arsons, as well as implement and enforce preventative measures to protect the State. Stations 1, 2, and 3 are part of this division.
- The Airport Division of the SAFD is the division solely responsible for handling all fire-related emergencies at all state airports, with three Stations covering the Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas Airports to ensure minimum response time in large-scale emergencies. Stations 4, 5, and 6 are part of this division. As an exception, Station 3 is tasked with handling the abandoned airstrip in the Bone County area of the state, due to this airstrip being privately owned and non-operational.
- San Fire is a state-wide divisional agency run by the ARFD in accordance with local Fire Departments such as LSFD, SFFD, and LVFD, in order to prevent wildfires within rural areas of the state. This is considered to be a separate division from the Fire Prevention Bureau, as it is run under state authority, rather than by the Department itself, although the SAFD has complete control over the division within it's jurisdiction.
- The Fire Prevention Bureau is the SAFD's premier authority in the prevention of fire-related emergencies, as well as the enforcement of codes and laws pertaining to fire-prevention safety. Seen as Fire Marshals for each Department, members of the Fire Prevention Bureau are tasked with inspecting all buildings in relations to safety codes, and also have the ability to fine those in violation of the United States Of Argonath's Fire Laws, including any local Fire Laws imposed by the state, county, or city within the SAFD's jurisdiction.
